'Thanks for wasting my time': Job applicant professionally goes off on hiring manager after they lose their cool on him when he rejects their lowball offer

Sometimes the audacity of these hiring managers is just ridiculous. It's scary when you're first thrown into the world of applying for jobs. The workforce is a dog-eat-dog world out there and you never know when you need to take what you can get or risk it all for what you want. When do you need to start from the bottom and work your way up vs when you should be offered something way better because you are already at that higher level? It's difficult to learn those ins and outs, but you eventually catch on.

However, it would appear that some hiring managers never catch on. Take example this entitled one that Redditor user jettaboy04 posted about. He applied for a job and went to the in-person interview. It quickly became clear that he was not only way overqualified for the position, but that there were a lot more duties than listed and it was a much further drive from his residence. So when he left, he was pretty sure that this job was just not a good fit for him. He still, however, got a callback and they offered him the job. That would have been exciting if a million red flags weren't already going off, plus the offer was extremely in the lowball range. He rejected the offer politely and when the hiring manager asked why, he told him the truth—all very professional. Unfortunately, the hiring manager lost his cool and hung up. What a world, huh?
